SEVEN STAR PERFORMANCE SEALS THE POINTS

Uprising produced a fantastic attacking performance as we comfortably beat Diamond FC by 7 goals to 0 at the REGTC.

The lads started on the front foot from the first whistle with our first effort on target coming courtesy of a header by captain Leon Whyle which was saved. However, Leon didn’t have to wait long to get his name on the scoresheet, and he opened the scoring just a minute later with a cool finish from close range.

Our one goal lead became two in the 10th minute when Kashawn Senior let fly from fully 30 yards with a powerful strike which was too hot to handle for the goalkeeper who could only get a palm to the ball which wasn’t enough to prevent it from hitting the back of the net.

We continued to pour forward with several chances coming and going before Kashawn grabbed his second of the game by producing a great finish after being found by a long ball from Kemari Gumbs.

Two further goals followed before the break with Kashawn completing his hat-trick with a brilliant long-range chip and Kemari Gumbs making it 5-0 on the stroke of half-time with a powerful shot which almost ripped the net off!

In truth, the second 45 minutes was much quieter than the first period which was mainly due to some resolute defending from our opponents which they must be credited for. It took until the 65th minute for us to increase our lead which came from the boot of Leon Whyle for his second of the night. An excellent long-range strike which gave the keeper no chance!

We scored our 7th and final goal of the game just five minutes from time when the hard-working Rushane Brooks deservedly got on the scoresheet by scoring from a tight angle.

This was an excellent attacking performance, securing an important win which sees us going back to the top of the league table!
