Sevilla beats Alavés 1-0 to finish with the most points

Sevilla finished this season by setting a club record with the most points and beat Alavés 1-0 in a match that was the last match of the Spanish League. Papu Gómez was the one to score the winning goal for Sevilla who finished with 77 points. Sevilla had already locked a Champions League berth long before but was involved in the title race as well after the top teams stumbled at the end. Julen Lopetegui’s team was two points behind Barcelona. Alavés on the other side finished 16th and was four points above the relegation zone.

In another match, Granada and Getafe ended the match in a goalless draw with Granada finishing 9th and Getafe in 15th. Yesterday Atlético Madrid had already sealed their first title in years after defeating Valladolid 2-1 with Real Madrid being the runner-ups just two points below.
