Sevilla climb closer to Real with a win at Cadiz

Lucas Ocampos netted the only goal of the match to help Sevilla grab the much-needed three points as they cut Real’s lead at the top of the La Liga table. The Spanish league returned to action after the winter break and Sevilla overcame their last underwhelming performance against Barcelona where they drew up 1-1 and lost the chance to gain more points. Sevilla saw off the second-to-last Cadiz with a 1-0 triumph even when they missed about seven players from the squad.

Sevilla took advantage of Real’s slip up against Getafe that ended their unbeaten run of 15 games only recently to climb within five points with one game advantage. In another La Liga match, Oihan Sancet alone fired thrice to help Athletic Bilbao with a 3-1 win at Osasuna.
