Spain comfortably won over Croatia to qualify for the quarterfinals of UEFA Euro 2020. In the eight-goal thriller, Alvaro Morata was also on the scoring sheet that helped Spain make a comeback after an own goal by Pedri in the first half put them behind. Three-time European Champions then recovered smoothly after the mess up and goals by Pablo Sarabia, Cesar Azpilicueta and Ferran Torres put them ahead.
Croatia answered with goals from Mislav Orsic in the 85th minute and Mario Pasalic’s header in injury time which was then answered with Morata’s 100th-minute strike and then the 103rd strike by Mikel Oyarzabal. This was their first knockout win since Euro 2012. Goals continued to rain in France vs Switzerland match as well which ultimately paved the way for Switzerland’s first major tournament win in years. The Swiss team would now take on Spain in the quarter-finals in St Petersburg on Friday.
