The blockbuster clash in Belgium between Standard Liege and Anderlecht was brought to an early end. The fixture was abandoned with 57 minutes on the clock after flares were thrown by the Anderlecht supporters.
According to 'HLN', there were also altercations near the Stade Maurice Dufrasne and the Anderlecht footballers had to stay in their dressing room for some time until the incidents outside were dealt with.
"The match has been abandoned following the behaviour of the Anderlecht supporters," Standard Lirge published on their official Twitter account.
The team from Brussels have yet to comment publicly on the unsavoury scenes.
