Stephan El Shaarawy’s last minute goal helps Roma top the Serie A table

Stephan El Shaarawy grabbed the last-minute winner in Jose Mourinho’s 1000th game as a manager. Roma won by 2-1 against Sassuolo in the Serie A match, first hosts took an early lead with midfielder Bryan Cristante's goal then Domenico Berardi’s assists helped Filip Duricic level the score. Thereafter the match headed towards a draw, until Stephan El Shaarawy grabbed the late goal in the injury time which set up Roma to take the first spot.

Roma currently has nine points and is ahead of rivals AC Milan and Napoli because of goal difference while Sassuolo has four points from its three games and is ninth on the Serie A table. Domenico Berardi had almost put the visitors ahead as well in the first 45 minutes but the goal was disallowed as it was offside.
