Taiwo Awoniyi handed a 2-1 defeat to RB Leipzig

Union Berlin finished the season on a high with the Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi played in the 21st and final game of this season on Saturday and came off the bench to score for Union Berlin and deny RB Leipzig a winner on the last day of the 2020/2021 Bundesliga season. Nigerian helped the team come back from a goal down to ultimately beat the Leipzig by 2-1.

In the first half, both the teams could not break the dreadlock but in the second half Leipzig started off well with a lead in the 55th minute but Union found a leveler 9 minutes after Awoniyi’s was introduced in the 58th minute and Marvin Friedrich scored for the team and Max Kruse struck a winner on the final day for Union.
