The Japan international completed his transfer from Belgian club Sint-Truiden and pledged to learn Italian quickly, so he can communicate with his new teammates.
“Yuto Nagatomo told me that there’s a lot of pressure playing in Italy, but that excites me, as it means the fans are passionate,” said the centre-back in his Press conference.
“So many people have already stopped me in the street to show their encouragement over the last few days. I hope to stay here for a long time and as soon as I received the offer, I jumped at it. There are organised defences in Serie A and great strikers. I can play as a full-back or in the centre, but my objective either way is to become a leader at the back”.
