Top coaches’ salaries reveal big gaps

The salaries of national‑team coaches highlight a striking imbalance between financial power and on‑field success. At the top stands Carlo Ancelotti, now leading Brazil, earning around €10 million per year. Behind him are Germany’s Jürgen Klopp on €9–10 million and England’s Thomas Tuchel at roughly €6 million. France’s new coach Zinedine Zidane follows with €5.5 million, while Mauricio Pochettino earns €5 million with the United States. The second tier includes Jorge Jesus (Portugal) and Fabio Cannavaro (Uzbekistan) at €4 million, then Gustavo Alfaro (Paraguay) and Jesse Marsch (Canada) at €2.5 million.

Lionel Scaloni closes the top ten with €2.3 million despite guiding Argentina to major success. The biggest surprise is Spain’s Luis De La Fuente, world champion in 2026 yet earning only €2 million — the same as Italy’s Roberto Mancini. The ranking shows that financial investment doesn’t always align with coaching impact, and success often depends more on leadership and long‑term planning than salary.
