Tottenham Hotspur maintained their incredible start

After winning against Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur maintained their incredible start to the season and extended their lead to five points at the top of the Premier League standings. Following a close first half in which Guglielmo Vicario denied Odsonne Edouard's low effort, the visitors gained the lead in the second half.

The first goal came from a great slice of luck for them when Palace defender Joel Ward diverted a cross from James Maddison into his own net. However, their second goal was not fortunate as Son Heung-min scored his eighth goal of the year after a beautiful play combining Maddison and Brennan Johnson culminated with a shot from six yards out. In stoppage time, Jordan Ayew gave Palace a magnificent goal after putting the ball down on his chest, but Tottenham continued their excellent play under new manager Ange Postecoglou and there was to be no equaliser.
