Tottenham Hotspur returned to the top of the Premier League

Spurs have only lost games this year in London derbies, to Arsenal and Brentford, but they never trailed against a weak Fulham team. After Micky van de Ven intercepted Calvin Bassey's bad ball in the 36th minute, captain Son scored a superb goal. After another Bassey ball was intercepted and the England playmaker was set up by Son to score, Maddison increased the advantage early in the second half with a goal that was nearly identical to the first.

Joao Palhinha's header from a corner forced Guglielmo Vicario into a stunning save as Fulham came the closest. Under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham has had a good start, and they came out strong for the first half of the game. Dejan Kulusevski set up Richarlison, who missed the target with a curling attempt, but Son quickly scored the opening goal for his eighth goal of the year.
