Tunisia and Denmark play to a scoreless draw to kick off the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Three hours after Saudi Arabia shocked Argentina by defeating them, Tunisia held the semifinals of Denmark for the European Championship to a scoreless draw. Assa Ladouni, a midfielder for Tunisia, set the tone for the match in the opening minute when he aggressively tackled Denmark playmaker Christian Eriksen to take the ball away. He then rose up and pumped his arms menacingly while signalling to the audience to get even more energized.

Through a translator, Ladouni stated, "I'm always proud to represent Tunisia and we always go on the pitch 100% devoted. Although Tunisia probably should have scored more, Denmark was able to hold on to a draw thanks to a brilliant stop by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel just before halftime. After Tunisia's defense was breached, Schmeichel, who had already sunk to the ground, stuck his palm up to deflect a shot from Issam Jebali, who plays club soccer for Odense in Denmark.
