UEFA plans to move Euro 2020 semi-finals and final away from Wembley

UEFA is still on the fence about moving the Euro 2020 semi-finals and final away from Wembley. Because of the strict quarantine rules in place, some of the overseas fans and VIPs might not be exempted to attend the final match. The European football’s governing body also shared in a statement that the finals are fixed in London but a contingency plan is still in place.

If in case they do need a new place for the finals, Budapest would be their first option as the games are being held at Puskas Arena at 100% capacity. UEFA also suggests they would work on a method they adopted in last month’s Champions League final in Portugal where fans were allowed to flow in and out within 24 hours. Thus with strict rules fans might be able to attend the matches if they stayed for less than 24 hours though it creates enormous pressure on the government. And for VIPs, they have a bubble to bubble concept in place.
