Manchester United are still searching for a new manager. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked due to poor results and, for the moment, it is former player Michael Carrick who is acting as interim manager.
But the Red Devils, according to 'The Guardian', already have a name for the job: Ernesto Valverde. The former Barcelona, Athletic and Espanyol, among others, has been tempted by the Old Trafford club.
The aforementioned source claims that Jamie Jackson, Manchester United's sporting director, has already contacted Valverde to take charge of the team until the end of the year.
It is not known if he would have options to continue for next season, although the name of Mauricio Pochettino is the most talked about for that position. Valverde, meanwhile, has been unemployed since January 2020, when he was sacked from Barcelona.
