Vitor Roque marks Brazil call-up with brace against Santos

Four days after his inclusion in the Brazil squad, Vitor Roque vindicated Carlo Ancelotti's decision by scoring both goals in Palmeiras' victory over Santos FC on matchday 32 of the Brasileirao.

'Tigrino', in fine form, received the welcome news of his return to the 'Verdeamarelha' two years after his first and only call-up.  

The former Barcelona forward capped off a brilliant spell since August, having scored 15 goals and provided 5 assists in his last 20 appearances.

Against Santos FC, he showcased his finishing prowess. For the opening goal, after being played through by Jose Manuel Lopez, he finished with his left foot past the onrushing Gabriel Brazao.

The best was yet to come with the second goal, when a through-ball from Veiga put him one-on-one with the visiting goalkeeper, whom he beat with a clinical chip that sent the stands into raptures.
