West Ham United defeated Premier League leaders Chelsea with a 3-2 win on Saturday as the side came from behind as the team claimed three points after substitute defender Arthur Masuaku scored a winner. Hammers found the winner in the 87th minute, as Masuaku scored his first goal in his 96th Premier League appearance. Thiago Silva scored with a header, at the 28th minute giving Chelsea a leg up early in the match.
West Ham then made it back in the game when Jorginho build pressure on goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in the 40th minute. Manuel Lanzini converted the penalty when Mendy brought down Jarrod Bowen. Chelsea came back within four minutes with Mount’s goal and West Ham drew level in the 56th minute with Bowen’s goal before Masuaku’s surprise winner that puts Hammers fourth on the table six points behind Chelsea.
