West Ham United have completed the signing of Morocco international Nayef Aguerd as Rennes agrees to £30m fees for the player. The centre-back inked a five-year contract with Hammers as David Moyes side bolsters their options in this summer transfer window. Aguerd would compete with the likes of Craig Dawson, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna, and Kurt Zouma for playtime at London Stadium. Moyes stated “He’s a great addition that will add to our defensive options.”
Aguerd kickstarted his career with FUS Rabat before he moved to France back in 2018 and joined Dijon, later transferred to Rennes in 2020. Aguerd also shared “I was really excited when I heard about West Ham United’s interest, it is a historic club. I talked with the manager and he showed me that he was very interested, so it was easy to choose to come to West Ham.”
