Wolfsburg defeats Stuttgart 1-0

Josip Brekalo scored the lone goal for the night with a free-kick to help VfL Wolfsburg win 1-0 against VfB Stuttgart in Bundesliga. Wolfsburg had gone ahead early in the game but their goal was disallowed at first when Yannick Gerhardt fired a header at the back of the net.

Later, in the 49th minute, Brekalo scored for them to claim the fourth place on the Bundesliga table and are just six points away from first place taken up by Bayern Munich. Their unbeaten run is now at seven while Stuttgart sits seventh on the table. And they had almost leveled the score when Nico Gonzalez hit in the 70th minute but could not score for them. Freiburg had the best night of them all thrashing Hertha Berlin 4-1 with Vincenzo Grifo getting the limelight by scoring once and setting up another to help them climb 10th on the table.
