Zinedine Zidane was one of the candidates to take over as Paris Saint-Germain coach for the season that is about to start in August. In the end, the Parisian side decided to sign Christophe Galtier, although the former Real Madrid coach's name was on the table until practically the last day.
Now, from France, they claim that Zidane's entourage leaked to the media that he had an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, something that was totally false.
'Le Parisien', the media outlet closest to PSG, indicated that these were self-serving leaks to pressure the French federation into signing Zidane, the former player and now coach's big dream. "To date, I am the only person authorised to represent and advise Zidane. Neither Zidane nor I have been contacted directly by PSG's owner. I'm not even sure that the Emir is interested in bringing Zidane in," Alain Migliacco, Zidane's representative, told 'L'Equipe'.
