Zlatan Ibrahimovic puts an end to his playing career

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced that he has put an end to his playing career at the age of 41. The moment happened at San Siro, right after the game between AC Milan and Hellas Verona (3-1), which closed the 2022/23 Serie A season.

"The time has come to say goodbye to football, but not to you [the fans]," Ibrahimovic said into the microphone, in tears.

"I can barely breathe but everything is fine. I have so many memories of this stadium. They gave me love first and then happiness. I want to thank my family for their patience. I want to thank my second family: the players", stressed the now former Swedish striker.

Ibrahimovic won: a Spanish championship, four French championships, five Italian championships, two Dutch championships, a Europa League, a European Super Cup, among many others.
