Boston Celtics beat the Indiana Pacers 133-128

In the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 133–128 in overtime. With six seconds left, Jaylen Brown of the Celtics made a three-pointer to tie the score at 117-117 and force overtime at the TD Garden in Boston.

With only a minute remaining, Jayson Tatum, who finished with 36 points, made it safe for the top-seeded Celtics to win with a three-pointer and a layup respectively. "The NBA Playoffs are now underway. "Anything can happen," the 26-point scorer Brown stated. The Pacers committed 21 turnovers, one of which happened just prior to Brown's game-winning three-pointer. The Pacers' coach, Rick Carlisle, blamed the defeat "totally on me" for neglecting to call a timeout before Brown's goal. On Thursday, the second game will be played in Indianapolis' Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
