ESPN's Shams Charania reports that centre Luka Garza has reached an agreement with the Boston Celtics to sign a two-year, fully guaranteed contract. Over the course of the two seasons, the minimum-salary contract will be worth about $5.5 million. The 26-year-old Garza is starting his fifth NBA season. Prior to spending the final three years with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he began his career with the Detroit Pistons.
The Bosnian-American big man played 92 games in Minnesota, averaging 4.5 points and 1.6 rebounds in just 6.3 minutes per game. Garza has never played more than 8.7 minutes per game in Minnesota. After being picked 52nd overall, he had a career-high 12.2 minutes per game during his first season with Detroit in 2021–2022.
