An NBA executive believes the Brooklyn Nets are likely to trade Cameron Johnson, given the team’s current rebuild mode following the trade of Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks. Johnson, who was acquired from the Phoenix Suns in the major Kevin Durant trade during the 2022-23 season, played 58 games for the Nets in the 2023-24 season. He averaged 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and shot 44.6% from the field, 39.1% from three-point range, and 78.9% from the free-throw line.
At 28 years old, Johnson has career averages of 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. He signed a four-year, $94.5 million contract with the Nets in July 2023, and is set to earn $23.6 million next season. Despite the speculation, Johnson expressed commitment to the Nets during the NBA Summer League, stating he is "all-in" and excited about the team's future if he remains in Brooklyn.
