Carmelo Anthony has officially decided to hang up his boots

Anthony, a former NBA All-Star, said on Monday that he is leaving the league. After 19 professional seasons, Anthony, who was unsigned this season, retires with over 28,000 career points (ninth in league history), 10 All-Star appearances, six All-NBA nominations, a scoring title, and six All-Star selections. The Denver Nuggets, Anthony's former team, engaged in a heated discussion in response to the revelation. The first eight years of Anthony's career were spent with the Nuggets, when he was selected in the 2003 NBA Draught and given the No. 15 jersey.

However, Anthony was dealt to the New York Knicks in 2011, and Denver then gave current star Nikola Jokic Anthony's No. 15. As a result, many people questioned whose No. 15 the Nuggets would finally decide to retire. Anthony was a homegrown star who was the face of the Nuggets for almost a decade.
