Phoenix Suns improved their lead over Denver Nuggets by 2-0 after Chris Paul sets a playoff record to help them to a 123-98 win. Point guard Chris Paul scored 17 points and became the first player to post 15 assists and no turnovers. For Nuggets it was an embarrassing loss in the best-of-seven Western Conference semi-finals series. All the Suns’ starters were in double figures with Devin Booker on team-best 18 points.
2021 NBA MVP Nikola Jokic, was held to 24 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists which were more than the combined efforts by other Nuggets starters, even when he was rested for the fourth quarter. Both the team’s defense worked hard in the first half denying the other the chance to get ahead but Suns still held the lead with 52-42 and then from the third quarter Suns dominated the show and held Nuggets to shoot just 37% of their buckets and go 9/32 from three.
