Tuesday's NBA Cup celebrations took place at American Airlines Centre and included the much-anticipated Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies game. After down badly in the third quarter, the Mavericks rallied to defeat the squad headed by Ja Morant 121-116. After their victory on Tuesday, the Mavericks continued to have a 7-1 record in games including Luka Doncic and Ja Morant. Doncic and Dereck Lively II, who scored in their trademark styles, gave the Mavericks the jolt they needed. Doncic made challenged three-pointers, and Lively outscored the Grizzlies, especially Jaren Jackson Jr., the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year winner, with incredible face-dunks.
The Mavericks, meanwhile, had a terrible first half despite the abundance of highlight plays. The audience watched in disbelief as the Grizzlies absorbed the home team's attention and energy after blowing a 10-point lead in the third quarter.
