Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams has signed a two-year, $25.2 million extension, tying him to the team for the next three years. After three years and $43.1 million for Adams, the Grizzlies are looking to take the next step to championships. Adams, who was eager to sign an extension, believes he has a chance to win a championship with the Grizzlies. As a cultural figure on a maturing team, his on-court presence, rebounding and offensive rebounding, Adams led the NBA in 2015 in second-chance points and second-chance assists per game.
He ranked in the top five in screen assists per game in the NBA last season, and he led the team in second-chance points last season. He was brought in via an offseason barter from the New Orleans Pelicans.
