Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen has agreed to a three-year, $91 million contract extension with Cleveland, as reported by a source familiar with the negotiations. This deal will guarantee Allen $131 million over the next five years. The Cavaliers are expected to announce the extension soon, possibly as early as Thursday.
Allen, who has emerged as a key player for the Cavs and is recognized as one of the top big men in the Eastern Conference, is part of Cleveland's "Core 4," alongside All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell, guard Darius Garland, and forward Evan Mobley. This core helped the Cavs reach the playoffs for the second consecutive year, advancing past the first round before losing to eventual champions Boston in the conference semifinals. Allen, an All-Star in 2022, averaged a career-high 16.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 77 games last season. He joins Mitchell and Mobley in securing extensions this summer.
