Big players Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Darius Bazley have been formally released by the Utah Jazz. Considering that both players were released before their contract guarantee dates, they are both eligible to negotiate new contracts with the organization. After joining the Jazz on March 11, Lofton, 21, averaged 13.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in his four games of play. After being dismissed by the Memphis Grizzlies, he signed a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers in late December. Before being released by the Sixers, he played in two games. During his second NBA season, he played in 17 games overall, averaging 2.4 points and 1.1 rebounds. As a rookie, he averaged 5.0 points and 2.1 rebounds in 24 games.
The 24-year-old Bazley joined Utah on March 12 and averaged 8.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in his six appearances. He is starting his sixth NBA season and signed a 10-day contract with the Sixers in February.
