Lauri Markkanen propels the Jazz past the struggling Lakers

Lauri Markkanen scored 29 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and had five assists as the Utah Jazz defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 132-125 on Saturday night in Salt Lake City. Utah won for the 11th time in the last 13 games, led by Collin Sexton's 27 points and Jordan Clarkson's 21 off the bench. Keyonte George and John Collins both had 19 points and 13 rebounds as the Jazz won their eighth consecutive home game.

D'Angelo Russell had a season-high 39 points and equaled his season record with six 3-pointers, but the Lakers fell for the 11th time in 15 games. Los Angeles was without LeBron James who is out with an ankle injury. His absence was his fourth of the season. For the Lakers, Austin Reaves scored 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting before fouling out. Rui Hachimura led the way with 17 points, and Anthony Davis chipped in with 15 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists, and four blocked shots.
