Embiid performed marvelously by adding five assists, 17 rebounds, four blocks, and two steals in an overpowering performance at both ends of the court. His 50 points led the team to a victory. Tobias Harris scored 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Eastern Conference-leading 76ers, who played without Ben Simmons who suffered from illness for the second game straight and finalized coaching duties for Doc Rivers at the all-star game. Zach LaVine could score 30 points for the Bulls. When 76es were leading 107-103, Embiid blocked LaVine’s driving attempt with 1:02 remaining.
This was followed by hitting a 17-foot baseline jumper. During the Bulls’ timeout, Embiid jogged to the center court and requested cheers from the empty seats by putting both hands up. The Bulls had been doing fine when Embiid wasn’t there in the game.
