Marc Gasol signs with Lakers

Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka of Los Angeles Lakers announced that they have officially signed a new center Marc Gasol. Former Toronto Raptors player played a total of 44 games last season and averaged 7.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 26.4 minutes per game. While his career stats show 839 games with Grizzlies and Raptors where he averaged14.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.4 blocks in 33.0 minutes.

The three-time NBA All-Star would be a huge boost for Lakers who are looking to defend their championship next year. He was the first European-born player to be named NBA Defensive Player of the Year and has been a part of the Spanish National Team where he has earned 9 medals for the country including two gold medals at FIBA World Cup 2006 and 2019.
