Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 128-91

On Thursday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 128-91 to record their sixth straight victory. Anthony Edwards scored 34 points, and the team established a 30-point lead during the most lopsided first quarter in the NBA this season. The Western Conference-leading Timberwolves, led 44-14 after one quarter of play and had won four straight games with 23 points from Karl-Anthony Towns. It was Minnesota's 20th road victory, leading the West.

The Trail Blazers, led by 20 points by Jerami Grant, cut the deficit to single digits in the third quarter. But a shot by Monte Morris halfway through the last quarter gave the Timberwolves a 112-81 edge. Tuesday night's game between the two teams ended with Minnesota winning 121-109 thanks to a decisive fourth quarter. Due to his previous performance coming off the bench, rookie guard Scoot Henderson was placed back into the starting lineup by Blazers coach Chauncey Billups.
