Svi Mykhailiuk and Oshae Brissett were the only two players the Boston Celtics retained from their championship squad from the previous campaign. Mykhailiuk's return looks improbable given that the organization selected Baylor Scheierman in the first round and renewed Sam Hauser's contract. The option for Brissett to return to Boston in free agency is still available, though.
The forward chose not to exercise his $2.46 million player option earlier in the offseason. But even after more than a month of free agency, Brissett remains unsigned. Brissett discussed his free agency in an open video posted on his channel, BrissyTV, on YouTube. The 26-year-old disclosed that he wants to play more and is "talking to some teams." Brissett did add, though, that a trip back to Boston is still a possibility.
