NBA crackdown: three-game ban for Schroder after Doncic altercation

The league reported Schroder attempted to strike an opponent during an altercation occurring forty minutes after Sacramento’s 125-101 loss to the Lakers on December 28. Schroder allegedly confronted the player in a Crypto.com Arena hallway. Although the NBA withheld the identity, ESPN identified the target as Luka Doncic. They engaged in heated exchanges throughout the match, with Doncic reportedly provoking Schroder by mentioning his infamous rejection of an $84 million Lakers contract offer in 2021.

Consequently, Schroder misses upcoming home contests against Houston, the Lakers, and New York Knicks. He is eligible to return Friday against the Washington Wizards. A twelve-year veteran who has played for ten different franchises, the 6-foot-1 guard is currently averaging 13 points and 5.7 assists this season.
