Jamal Murray, a star player for the Denver Nuggets, has reached an agreement on a four-year, $208 million maximum contract extension, his agents Jeff Schwartz and Mike George have confirmed the news. The agreement guarantees Murray $244 million over the following five seasons and secures a cornerstone for the Western contender team.
After being selected seventh overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, Jamal Murray has established himself as a key player for the Nuggets with teammate and leader Nikola Jokic. Murray was the outstanding point guard in the 2024 regular season, averaging 21.4 points and 6.5 assists per contest. The news of his extension comes weeks after the Nuggets' heartbreaking playoff loss to Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Conference Semi-Finals. Murray was not the same player that led the team to the championship the previous season, averaging 18.4 points, 4.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 40.3% shooting in 7 games.
