Monday night's 109-97 loss to the Houston Rockets (4-3) ended the Knicks' two-game winning run and sent them back to.500 on the season. New York ended the game 34-for-88 (38.6 percent) from the field after having a poor shooting night from the beginning. Despite scoring a game-high 29 points and going 9-for-24 (7-for-20 on two-pointers), Jalen Brunson had the most difficulty. Ironically, despite only making 28 three-point attempts, the Knicks had respectable three-point shooting (39.3 percent).
OG Anunoby was 5-for-6 from long range and made nearly half of New York's 11 triples during the contest. On 7 of 14 shots, he ended with 21 points. Josh Hart (12), Mikal Bridges (15), and Karl-Anthony Towns (17) all had double figures, while Towns pulled down an outstanding 19 rebounds, including nine offensive rebounds. Nevertheless, Houston outscored the Knicks 50–39.
