Sam Cassell has agreed to join the Celtics coaching staff under Joe Mazzulla

The Boston Celtics were defeated by the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, preventing them from advancing to the NBA Finals. In response, they increased the coaching staff of their team with a former three-time NBA Champion. Sam Cassell, a former NBA point player, has undoubtedly served the league in a variety of capacities. Over the course of a 15-year playing career, he first had a very successful career as a footballer, playing for seven different organisations. In the NBA, Cassell has a long history of coaching, spending 14 years as an assistant under several different head coaches.

With the Celtics, led by head coach Joe Mazzula, will be his next stop. Cassell has agreed to work as an assistant coach for Mazzula, who is entering his second season as head coach, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
