The Timberwolves made the news of their multi-year contract with McDaniels public on Monday. The Athletic's Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynski report that the five-year contract is worth $136 million. The two parties agreed to an agreement on Monday, which was the deadline for completing a long-term agreement. The 2020 NBA Draft's 28th overall pick was McDaniels.
In his three seasons with the Timberwolves, he has started 137 games. In the 79 games he started last season, he scored 12.1 points and pulled down 3.9 rebounds. After fracturing his hand hitting a wall at Target Centre late in the regular season, he was unable to play in the Western Conference Playoff series against the Denver Nuggets. McDaniels averaged 9.3 points and almost 53 percent shooting from the field over his last six postseason games with the Timberwolves.
