Wizards surprisingly reveal Anthony Davis’s new jersey number

His arrival completes a franchise revolution, following the January acquisition of Trae Young. Davis joins Washington via a massive three-team blockbuster that shipped Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, AJ Johnson, and Khris Middleton to Charlotte and Dallas. Conversely, the Wizards received Davis, Dante Exum, Jaden Hardy, and D’Angelo Russell.

The 32-year-old big man brings 14 seasons, averaging 24 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks. In his recent Dallas stint, he averaged 20.4 points and 11.1 rebounds over 20 contests. With a 14-36 record placing them 13th in the East, Washington is counting on Davis to guide a young frontcourt including Alex Sarr and Skal Labissière. His veteran presence is expected to bring crucial structure and leadership to this group currently under reconstruction.
