Young will remain in Phoenix and will work with coach Vogel

Even while the Suns ultimately chose to sign Vogel to a five-year, $31 million contract, it doesn't mean the franchise doesn't still hold Young, who has been a member of the team since 2020, in high regard. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Young will remain in Phoenix and work with coach Vogel. According to the agreement, the 41-year-old becomes the NBA's highest-paid assistant coach. Young's new contract guarantees him $2 million in salary each season.

Young worked as a team assistant with the Philadelphia 76ers from 2017 to 2020 before joining the Suns. Young is still a great possibility moving ahead even though he wasn't able to land a head coaching position this summer. It's crucial to remember that neither the Toronto Raptors nor their upcoming head coach have been selected. Therefore, if this action doesn't take place, it's probable that Young was initially considered a contender to lead Toronto.
