New Zealand was bowled out for 284, setting England to a target of 299 to win. Jonny Bairstow played an integral role with his dominating 136 runs from 92 balls to lead England to a momentous five-wicket, second Test triumph over New Zealand on Tuesday. With the second back-to-back win, Bairstow has secured the three-Test series as well.
England managed to achieve the target in just 50 overs with captain Ben Stokes’ unbeaten 75 not out from 70 balls and Bairstow’s century. England was struggling clearly at the start of the day they managed just 139 for four at tea as the starting order failed to post runs, Joe Root also went back with three runs. Thereafter Bairstow and Stokes wreaked havoc on New Zealand pounding 102 in the initial nine overs and went on to deliver the win to the team.
