On Tuesday, February 7, Gary Ballance became just the second hitter in Test cricket history to reach the century mark for two different nations. The southpaw pulled off the feat during Zimbabwe's inaugural Test match at the Queen's Sports Club in Bulawayo against the West Indies, captained by Kraigg Brathwaite. Kepler Wessels, who played for South Africa and Australia, is the only other hitter to reach the milestone. Ballance reached his hundred on Day 4 of the current Test, needing just 189 balls to reach the triple-figure mark.
Ballance batted at No. 4 and took 126 balls to get his half-century. He then increased the stakes a little bit and, in the second play session of the day, reached a three-figure score. Ballance was born in Zimbabwe and represented his country there at the U19 World Cup back in 2006.
