Bangladesh Cricket Board chief selector Minhajul Abedin revealed that the board has kept 27 members in the squad due to the present COVID-19 situation. Bangladesh Cricket Board wanted to keep some stand-by players during their tour just in case.
The present situation of COVID-19 forced BCB to keep a squad of 27 members ready for the World Test Championship (WTC), Bangladesh would be locking horns with Sri Lanka in October. The three-match red-ball series will feature Mahmudullah and Mustafizur Rahman, the board plans to eventually reduce the squad to 20 by the time series start and thereafter to 17 players who would be fit to play and the rest will fly back.
