Bangladesh won the ODI series by 2-1 over Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka thrashed Bangladesh on Friday by 97 runs and won consolation in the third one-day international with Skipper Kusal Perera hitting 120 and Dushmantha Chameera taking 5 wickets. Sri Lanka was taken to a 286-6 by the sixth ODI century by Perera and 55 by Dhananjaya de Silva unbeaten. The hosts have won the series by 2-1.

The first two matches of the series were won by Bangladesh and they never looked competitive once they were reduced to 28-3 by the Chameera’s three-wicket burst. The player of the match was given to Chameera while Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh, who scored 237 runs in three innings, including a century, was named the player of the series. Perera had taken over as the captain of the series from Dimuth Karunaratne and said that though they lost the series, they badly needed the win.
