Britain Test commander Ben Stokes will miss the impending three-match Twenty20 series against South Africa to deal with his responsibility and wellness, the nation's cricket board (ECB) has shared. Stokes is presently playing in the one-day international series against India and will highlight in the 50-over matches against South Africa from Tuesday to July 24. The 30-year-old, also avoided the T20 series against India this month.
Ben Stokes also battled with a knee issue during England's visit to West Indies in March and missed the beginning of the County Championship season with Durham the next month trying to deal with the issue. His Durham colleague Matthew Potts has been named in England's ODI crew for the South Africa series and Jonny Bairstow, who passed on the T20 series against India is moving back to the T20 crew, while spinner Adil Rashid gets back to the two crews subsequent to missing the series against India.
