Ben Stokes to prioritize his overall health

England all-rounder Ben Stokes prioritizes his mental health and thereby has taken an indefinite break. He will be missing out from the India-England series to focus on his mental well-being. Besides, the 30-year old is also under-recovery with regard to an injury to his left index finger. Stokes has withdrawn from the series will be replaced by Craig Overton for the upcoming test series against India.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are in good support of Stokes and will be supporting him throughout. Stokes missed two Tests against Pakistan last summer after taking a five-week vacation from cricket to see his family in Christchurch and assist with the care of his father, who died in December. Stokes has been sidelined by a finger injury this summer, and he missed England's home Test series against New Zealand in June.
