Chennai Super Kings failed to defend 201 runs against PBKS

Despite having a large goal of 201 runs, Chennai's bowlers were unable to stop Punjab batsmen in the game's second innings despite the field seemed to be quite favourable for both bowlers and batters. Sikander Raza defeated Chennai Super Kings at their home ground in Chepauk by clearing the infield and scoring three runs with the last ball, which was needed to complete the scoring.

As Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Sam Curran attacked the opposition, Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja took a 41-run beating. With their surge in the game's last overs, the three altered the course of the contest and tipped the scales in Punjab's favour. However, Chennai was able to regain control of the game in large part because of the work of Matheesha Pathirana, who only allowed 32 runs to be scored from his four overs while also dismissing Sam Curran.
