Chennai Super Kings thrashed Delhi Capitals by a score of 27 runs

The four-time IPL champions, CSK, had a terrible season in 2022 and placed ninth in the standings, but they have been in outstanding form this season. On Wednesday, CSK scored 101 runs off the last 10 overs of their innings on a challenging batting surface thanks to quick scoring from Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, and MS Dhoni. Deepak Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Matheesha Pathirana then bowled brilliantly to stall DC's run chase.

With a convincing victory, CSK solidified their top-two ranking in the points table and now has 15 points after 12 games. They managed to beat DC for the seventh time in a row at the Chepauk. Prior to Wednesday, Delhi Capitals had won four of their previous five games, but following the loss to Chennai Super Kings, their chances of making the playoffs are all but gone. If DC wins its final three games, it will be able to complete the season with a maximum of 14 points, but they will also need to watch their net run rate, which is the lowest among the top 10 teams this year.
