Pathirana's remarkable economy rate and wicket-taking ability in the death overs made him a crucial asset for CSK in IPL 2023. His absence creates an opportunity for Mustafizur Rahman, who has recovered from cramps, to fill the void. Mustafizur's expertise in bowling at the death adds depth to CSK's bowling arsenal. Alternatively, if the pitch favors spin, CSK can consider including Moeen Ali alongside Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, and Maheesh Theekshana.
